AppLife DNA Version 1.1

Version 1.1 adds the following features.
  • New Split Category - Requirements View
    The new split category view improves requirement management by providing requirements navigation through-drill down style category organization. This new view enhances the current in-line view and provides yet another way to analyze project requirements.
  • Categorized Requirements Dashboard
    For any category hierarchy level, view the current requirements analysis progress, at a project scope or iteration scope. See instantly what percentage of requirements have been completely analyzed, where the high priority requirements are, and how much effort is yet to be done.
  • Drag Drop Requirements Management
    The AppLife DNA Requirement Views are now completely drag-drop enabled, making requirement manipulation activities easier and more intuitive.
  • Drag Drop Section Organization
    The Specification Section pane is now drag-drop enabled, making the reordering of Sections easier and more intuitive.
  • Improved Document Table Content Change Comparison Mark-up
    Comparison Spec mark up of sections that include document tables with changes is now improved.
  • New Adornments to Images in a Comparison Spec
    Images that are new or removed between compared iterations are now adorned with a borders to indicate their difference from the baseline.
  • New Structured Numbering Spec Generation Option
    Specification Generation now supports adding structured numbers to the generated document based on Section content styles.
  • Easily Identify Incomplete Requirements in Requirements Views
    Requirements not yet marked as completed can be highlighted for easy identification within all Requirement Views.
  • Export Requirements to Excel
    Group & Filter Requirement Views can now be exported into a Microsoft Excel workbook.
  • Enhanced Specification Authoring Aids
    Requirements information can be easily accessed while authoring Sections by hovering over items in the Section Requirements pane.
  • Enhanced Requirement Versioning Aids
    A new option to automatically version all new requirements to the working version has been added. A new feature has been added to control the versioning of new requirements being added to a Requirement view that is filtered by version.
  • Improved Requirements View Behaviors
    Requirements views now scroll cleaner and are easier to view. New category expand/collapse behaviors make navigating requirement views easier.
  • Hide Shipped Versions
    Versions that have been completed and shipped can now be hidden from the project Roadmap.

    Organize and save custom requirement grid configurations. Easily switch between saved views.
  • Enhancements to Comparison Spec Change Markup
    Many improvements have been made to improve mark up and readability of comparison specifications.
  • Improvements to Requirements Search
    Full text searches include the use of the OR operator, quoted phrases, an exclusion operator, and stop words.
  • Jump To Requirement ID
    Navigate to a known requirement ID quickly.
  • Improved Filtered Grid Behavior
    A requirement dialog is now presented while creating a new requirement that would be filtered from the current grid view.
  • Import from SharePoint Lists
    Requirements can be imported from a Microsoft SharePoint server.
  • Import from Fogbugz Projects
    Requirements can be imported from a Fog Creek Fogbugz server.
  • Rename Snapshots
    Rename snapshots from the snapshot management dialog.
  • Override Default Document Titles
    Change the titles of generated documents from the project properties dialog.
  • Auto Generated Snapshot Name added to Cover Page
    When snapshots are automatically created upon generating a specification, the name is now on the specification cover page for later reference.
  • Suppress Unnecessary Auto-Generated Snapshots
    Auto-Generated snapshots are no longer created if the specification has not been modified.
  • Start in the Group & Filter View
    Application preference to start in the Group & Filter view upon startup.
AppLife DNA Version 1.0

Version 1.0 adds the following features to the preview release along with corrections to reported issues.
  • Requirement Importers
    Import requirements into AppLife DNA from delimited text files and Microsoft Excel. Imports can be configured to honor source identity columns which allows for repeated imports from source files without duplicating previously imported requirements.
  • Auto-Save
    AppLife DNA projects auto-save every five minutes (by default), protecting you from work loss in the event an unexpected software or computer glitch.
  • Efficient Image Storage
    Images are stored in the project file only once, regardless of the number of versions and snapshots that are added. This prevents unnecessary project file size bloat.
AppLife DNA Preview Released
