UPDATE:  An Execute MSI update action and a Set Shared Property update action has been added to the built-in actions in version 3.0.

Here is an Update Action that executes an msi during an Update Action List update.  This is useful for distributing new versions of third party prerequisites during an update.   I have included the source code, in case you need to do any customizations.

There are two actions in the assembly.  One that sets the update context properties into the Shared Properties collection so that they can be used in the two command line properties of the Execute Msi action.  To use the Msi action, copy the msi into a location on the client with an Add & Replace files action, then use the Execute Msi action to execute it.

It’s important to remember that if you are using the AppLife Update Windows Service to execute your update, you must run your msi silently.
