Hi

How do I setup a http, https, or ftp publisher? What are the steps? I tried setting up a ftp site but when trying to compile a new project and trying to publish it it gave me an error due to proxy and ftp. Is there a work-around? How much security can I apply? Can't my users use a sniffer to detect my credential getting passed to our server?

Currently I would like to create a spike to go to a web-server once a day to get a zipped file and download it to my client machine. I would like to implement the best possible security scenario.

What steps do you suggest I follow to create the suggested prototype?

Thanks,

Yama Kamyar

Hello,

To change your publish uri, open the project properties dialog of your AppLife Update project. There you will see a Location to publish updates to: property.  Change that to your desired publish location.

Many http proxy servers wont pass ftp traffic. This could be the case on your network.  You can publish using http or https as long as the server you are using has front page extensions installed.  Use https to avoid packet sniffing.

You can also manually move your update to your server via any means you wish.  Just move the Director.xml and the new update package (x.x.x.x.zip) from your local build folder to your server publish folder.
