Although you can import requirements from FogBugz (for example), it would be perhaps more useful to export requirements to FogBugz or some other task-oriented project management system. AppLife.DNA could be used to develop the requirements and the specification; and FogBugz (or equivalent) can be used to track their implementation.

Hello David,

Thank you for your feedback.  Yes, you are absolutely correct that it will be more useful when requirements can be exported to external sources as well as imported.  This would certainly provide traceability from idea to code.  We wanted to get importing available right away so that AppLife DNA can more easily be incorporated into an existing project without the need to enter requirements manually.

Where we are going with AppLife DNA is to develop conduits to existing installed "supervisory" collaboration systems so that the Analyst / Project Lead authoring specifications can "plug in" AppLife DNA.  The conduit would synchronize requirements both ways between AppLife DNA and the external system.  Publishing generated full / comparison specs to the external collaboration system is also in the works. We are planning initial conduits for SharePoint, TFS, and Fogbugz. Other systems with APIs could also be developed.
